Kids grow up so incredibly fast – sometimes a little faster than we'd like. One day their jacket fits perfectly, and the next, the sleeves look suspiciously short. That's when you know it's time for a new one – but which one is the right choice?
We've got the right jacket for every kind of outdoor kid – whether they love playing in the snow, hitting the slopes, riding their bikes, or just exploring the neighborhood.
All these jackets feature our absolute favorite material, PrimaLoft®: it’s lightweight, easy to pack, warm, and breathable, so the kids don't overheat. The result? Great transitional jackets that actually work all year round. With the right layers, they’re perfect for the slopes, a family hike, or just an easy choice for the daily walk to school.
To save you the headache of figuring out which jacket to get, I’ve put together a quick guide. It’ll help you easily figure out which one is the best fit for your kids.
PrimaLoft: Super light, but seriously warm
Before we dive into the jackets, you might be wondering what PrimaLoft® actually is. Long story short: it’s an easy-care, sustainable alternative to down. But there are a few other reasons why it’s our absolute go-to for kids' jackets. PrimaLoft® is…
- warm (even when wet)
- quick-drying
- lightweight
- super easy to pack down small
- made from recycled fibers (PCR)
Our lightweight PrimaLoft® jackets can handle any adventure, and they let kids move freely. Even when they’re running around, climbing, and playing hard, they stay comfortably warm without getting too sweaty.

Just how light are they? When my daughter put on her first PrimaLoft® jacket, she looked surprised and just said, "Mom, it's as light as a feather!" And yet, it kept her perfectly warm against the cold autumn wind during our holiday by the North Sea.
Which PrimaLoft jackets do we have?
Since we're such big fans, we use PrimaLoft® in quite a few of our jackets. After all, every kid is different and has their own needs – which is why our jackets are all different, too.
Neo - The lightweight all-rounder
If namuk founder Franz could only buy one jacket a year from now on, it would definitely be the Neo. It’s wind- and water-resistant, comes with a hood, and is lined with super-warm PrimaLoft® Active Gold. At the same time, it’s incredibly light and packs down really small. Getting too warm for a jacket? You can just stuff it right into its own inner pocket, so it hardly takes up any space in a backpack.

Kids love it because it’s our lightest jacket, meaning they have totally unrestricted movement for whatever they’re up to. Plus, it packs away tiny into its integrated inner pocket.
Best for: A lightweight, year-round all-rounder. It's a great transitional jacket for spring and autumn, or just as a backup on chilly summer days. It also works perfectly as an insulating layer under a rain jacket or 3-layer jacket, without feeling bulky. That combo is ideal for really cold days or hitting the slopes.
Glow - One jacket, two looks
Thanks to the high-quality PrimaLoft® Silver insulation, the Glow is our warmest insulated jacket. The water-resistant outer layer and hood do a great job of protecting against unpredictable weather, keeping little adventurers warm and dry.
It’s a reliable choice from those first chilly days of spring straight through the winter. It’s the jacket that almost always works – and it keeps your child visible, too. On dreary days or in the dark, the reflective seams provide 360° visibility, making sure little explorers can be seen safely near traffic.

Kids love it because it’s feather-light but still keeps them super cozy and dry. And the best part? It’s reversible, so they can choose between a fun pattern or their favorite color, depending on their mood.
Best for: A transitional or winter jacket.
Glare - The layering expert
This one really shines as an extra layer of insulation under a rain jacket or snow jacket. Filled with PrimaLoft Silver, Glare traps heat and doesn't give cold wind or freezing temperatures a chance.
We deliberately skipped the hood on the Glare jacket so it fits comfortably as a mid-layer without getting in the way. You can also use the zip-in system to connect it directly into our Turas jacket or Variat parka.
Or your kids can just wear it on its own on dry spring or autumn days. Goodbye, coat closet chaos! From now on, you only really need two jackets to be perfectly sorted for the whole year.

Kids love it because it adapts to any weather in seconds.
Best for: A lightweight jacket for dry days, or a warm insulating layer under a snow or rain jacket.
Snow jackets
When it comes to snow jackets, solid insulation is everything. That’s why we rely on PrimaLoft® here too – to keep your little owls warm whether they wear it on its own or layered up. With a wind- and waterproof outer shell and a heat-trapping layer of PrimaLoft® Black or Silver, they stay warm and dry in the snow and on the slopes.
And because they work so well, my own kids basically live in their snow jackets all winter long. Whether it's the walk to school, building snowmen in the afternoon, or a Sunday family walk, they wear them everywhere. If you happen to be looking for a ski jacket for your kids right now, this overview is just what you need.
A thousand and one ways to combine
We’re big believers in "less is more." That’s why we design our jackets so your little owls can get through the entire year with just two coats. Thanks to our zip-in system, quality materials, and smart layering options, our jackets are super flexible. They’re warm for winter, light enough for the in-between seasons, and tough enough for everyday play. That doesn't just save closet space; it saves time, money, and one less decision to make in the morning.

Another huge plus: our PrimaLoft® jackets pack down smaller than a sweater. You can easily toss them in a backpack or school bag just in case, or stuff them away quickly when the sun comes out. It means your kids are completely ready for whatever adventure awaits outside. Really, the only excuse to leave these jackets at home is a sweltering summer heatwave.
Now we'd love to know: which jacket is your favorite?
